Traditional business intelligence puts a warehouse, an ETL pipeline and a nightly refresh between you and your own numbers. By the time the dashboard is right the moment to act has passed, and half the effort has gone into keeping the pipeline alive rather than into the analysis.

Essence ERP's dashboards read live transactional data. No separate warehouse to maintain, no overnight job to fail, no gap between what the system knows and what the dashboard shows.

02What is in it

Live ERP data, not last night's extract

Role-based dashboards, a full report library, drill-down to the transaction, threshold alerts and scheduled distribution — reading directly from live ERP data.

01

An MD and a supervisor share almost no metrics

Dashboards are built per role: strategic and financial at the top, operational and immediate at the floor. Nobody scans past nine irrelevant charts to find the one that matters. Business users assemble their own views by drag and drop, with no request to IT.

  • Executive, managerial and operational views
  • Drag-and-drop builder, no developer
  • Chart, table, gauge, map and KPI tiles
  • Responsive, including large floor displays
02

Every figure clicks down to the transaction behind it

Standard reports across finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, production and HR ship on day one, and any summary number opens the records behind it — so a question is answered in the meeting instead of becoming an action point.

  • Pre-built reports across every function
  • Drill from summary to source transaction
  • No-SQL query builder for ad-hoc work
  • Saved filter sets and team sharing
  • Export to Excel, CSV and PDF

Almost no number means anything on its own

Period-over-period comparison, budget versus actual and forecast versus outcome are built in. Multi-year seasonality supports planning that is not last year plus ten percent, and what-if analysis models a price change, a new line or an added shift before you commit.

  • Period-over-period and budget vs actual
  • Multi-year seasonality and trend
  • Sales, cash and inventory forecasting
  • What-if scenario modelling

The problem raises itself before the review meeting

Thresholds fire when a number crosses the line: margin below target, stock below reorder, receivable past due, downtime above tolerance. Escalation moves an unacknowledged alert up the chain. Exception-only packs show the four items that need attention rather than the four hundred that do not.

  • Threshold alerts with escalation
  • Email, in-app and mobile push
  • Scheduled packs by recipient group
  • Exception-only reporting to cut noise

05

Your customers can see their own slice, safely

Dashboards embed into customer portals, supplier portals and internal applications, white-labelled where you present them as your own, with row-level security governing who sees what. Spreadsheets, market data and the legacy database that is not going away sit alongside ERP data in one view.

Includes

Embeddable, white-labelled dashboards · Row-level security by user, role, branch · External spreadsheet and database sources · API access for programmatic extraction

03Integrations

Sits directly on your ERP data

The BI layer is part of the same platform, so there is no connector to configure, no credentials to rotate and no schema to keep in sync. A field added during a customisation is reportable immediately.

Where you already have an analytics investment, the API exposes the same data to external tools and machine learning workflows. An addition to your stack, not a replacement for it.

04Outcomes

What changes in how you run the business

The effects of live, role-appropriate dashboards are consistent:

  • Meetings argue about decisions, not whose number is right
  • Month-end stops being a week of spreadsheet assembly
  • Problems raise themselves instead of waiting for review
  • Questions get answered by drilling down, in the meeting
  • Every department sees the same figures at the same time
  • Analysts spend their time on analysis, not data collection

See it running on your own numbers

A demo on sample data proves very little. Send us a week of your real documents and the same screens come back with your business in them, before anyone signs anything.
